My career began in 1997 as a sports writer for the Orlando Sentinel. Today, I'm the business communications director for Orlando's convention and visitors bureau.
In between, I've written and edited thousands of articles for some of the nation's most prestigious publications, including the Chicago Tribune, San Francisco Chronicle and Houston Chronicle, as well as papers in small- to mid-size markets. Online, I have managed content initiatives for Realtor.com, SFGate.com and APME.org.
As top editor of a daily newspaper near Washington, D.C., I hired, trained and managed a staff of reporters, photographers, editors/designers and multiple freelancers. As features department manager for the nation's largest content-outsourcing company, I led a large, geographically remote staff that produced more than 200 stories per week. And as editor of six hyperlocal magazines across Florida, I produced 32-page monthly publications that relied solely on content contributed by members of the community.
My B2B experience includes crafting executive-level communications for prominent clients spanning the public, private and nonprofit sectors. From letters, columns and op-eds to annual reports, strategic plans, speeches and PowerPoint presentations, I've drafted strategic material for a wide array of internal and external audiences.
